Unitarian Church (Sanvasii)

The Unitarian monument church can be reached going up on a side road, but its tower can be glimpsed from afar. On the site of the present church the foundations of a 12th century monastery were discovered. The church was built in the 13th-14th century in early Gothic style. This style is evoked by the polygonal sanctuary closing of the arch, the semicircular triumphal arch and grate windows. The nave bears the marks of Baroque style; it was rebuilt in the 16th century, just as the riveted door. Frescoes have been revealed in the sanctuary, these are from 1496-97. The tower is fortified, has a covered walkway, and the entrance on the first floor. The big bell is from 1498.

Getting there: Sanvasii (Nyárádszentlászló in Hungarian) is located on the 151D road, connecting Acatari with Miercurea Nirajului. The church is located on the Principala (Main) street nr. 16.
