Gothic Hall (Mitropoly’s Museum) – Iasi
Originally it was the Monastery of the Three Hierarchs’s refectory (in the seventeenth century), then chapel (nineteenth century). Today the building is a museum of religious arts. It gained the name “Gothic” not by external appearance, but because of the interior pointed arch vaults bounded by stone ribs. This annex also has an exterior balcony of 12 cylindrical columns of stone and a Roman tower entrance built during the general restoration of the monastery (1890), intended to take over the belfry’s role. The present appearance of the building is due to restoration in 1960. It is situated in the courtyard of the Three Hierarchs Church (Stefan cel Mare Boulevard no. 28).
